well interesting stuff, again i live in the country and venison i just could not give up i'm afraid, and there's nothing unhealthy about it in my eyes. i LOVE veggies also and have a min of 6 on my plate a day all varied.

we went to a party on Friday night and when i got to the food i put a ham sandwich on my plate... oh how i like Ham.... ended up putting it back though.

You can do some really good stuff with Quorn too, especially the casseroles - their 'chicken' has a texture that lends itself much more to marinating.

Marinate it in lime juice & zest, soy sauce, and honey then serve warmed through with rice and peas

hehe sorry for reviving an old thread but just wanted to say im a vegetarian too! i was sort of forced at a young age, but a few years ago i actually realised that i really did not want to eat animals anymore. i am slowly going more twards being vegan as well, but im not too strict on it. i figure vegetarian is pretty darn good, and nobody is perfect

Good for you Riotfox, I was quite young when I decided to be a vegetarian (about thirteen) and in those days it wasn't fashionable nor were there too many food health scares like today. Well I'm fast reaching the big 60 but prefer to say in my late fifties and in all that time I have never eaten meat nor ever regretted my decision. I'm fitter than a lot of people my age (sorry - I'm not really bragging but it is a fact) and I consider my diet has done me more good than harm.

Love meat Lamb, chicken , beef .I love vegetables but wouldnt be without meat cavemen ate meat our teeth are made for chewing teeth (im getting deeper in here I know lol) Turkey for christmas never had quorn dont want to try it .We are here once ill eat meat thank you.
