I rember that Rose, it turns my stomach to think of it. Credit to the lads mother for taking to the MSP, that must take some courage. I hope they get all they deserve eventually. Did the victim live Rose? and if so did he recover?

It was good that his mother took it Hugh Hendry - he is an excellent MSP and does fight against causes like that. Just wish the sentences were high to start with.
Yes, the young lad did survive but will need to be looked after for most of his life! He is walking though with help, which is good news. I was talking to his mother - both the Mum and Dad saw me passing by their house one day last week and came after me, she and her hubby thanked me for what I did, which was nothing really just called the ambulance and the police and shouted down to the louts, but it was nice of them to thank me.
The young man will never be the same again though. He had to be given another metal plate to replace the one the louts smashed! So sad what those mindless evil gits done and I hope they get the highest possible sentence at the hearing later this year!
Many thanks for asking Lyn.
Take care.

I hope they lock them up and throw away the key, there is never need for that kind of violence. You might be surprise just how much you did do Rose. By having the nerve to call down to them and letting them know someone was aware of their atrocity who could identify them (I wonder how many people would have dare to have done that) might have a life or death difference. Also the services reaching him as quickly as possible must have made another big difference. No wonder they want to thank you, I doubt they will ever forget you.

The folk who live in the back and front doors across the way stood at their windows looking at them and did nothing! When the louts left - sauntered down the drive they did - one of the ones who were looking out at it, came out went to the young man lying and went back into her house and never even brought a blanket out with her!! I thought that pitiful! It was just after that the emergency services arrived and the police! The young man was in the ambulance for nearly an hour before it left - they had to revive him!
I can still feel that kick the older of the two (one was 17 the other 19) gave the lad - that will never leave me!
As you say, they should lock them up and throw away the key!! But they will be molly-coddled and patted on the back! Still it is good that Hugh Hendry managed to get their sentences reviewed. 4 years was ridiculous. One of them already was out on bail for an attempted murder charge!! As was the one who filmed them on his mobile - he has not been sentenced for an attempted murder charge that he had been part of previously!!
I was only too pleased to have helped in a small way.

They look after the perpretators instead of the victims' families! Couldn't say that better. It's awful how they get everything they wish for. The holiday and everything else, which goes to the offenders, should be given to the families and victims! It's like they get a reward, for what they've done but with the baby P case the family members WERE the offenders. Why are people like that given so much protection after what they've done? i never thought i'd agree with the 'an eye for an eye' line but why shouldn't they have done to them atleast a part of what they did to that poor boy? and its not right that theft of money (however much it is) can be given a higher penalty than torture and murder of any one, whether its a high powered member of parliment / royalty or a baby born to (do not swear - i will not no matter how much i want to) 'evil' (for want of a better word) 'family' who either ignore or worse to the child. though i wouldn't harm anyone (i may dislike them, dispies what they do / have done but i will not harm on purpose unless forced to) i would like to ask them whyand get a true answer, but the police have probably tried that already. The folk who live in the back and front doors across the way stood at their windows looking at them and did nothing! When the louts left - sauntered down the drive they did - one of the ones who were looking out at it, came out went to the young man lying and went back into her house and never even brought a blanket out with her!! One of them already was out on bail for an attempted murder charge!! As was the one who filmed them on his mobile - he has not been sentenced for an attempted murder charge that he had been part of previously!! I was only too pleased to have helped in a small way. good on you, shame that there are these sick (ahem)s in the world willing to do such things to other human beings, those 2 with previous attempted murder charges should be locked away before they MANAGE to kill some one - prevention better than a cure and millions of times more so when there is no cure for death. the camera makes me think was it that 'happy slapping' i've heard about, and if so what possible point could it serve to anyone other than to seriously injure the person attacked? people my own age (i admit i'm 19 like the older of the 2) make me sick some times. i wish the government could get it right, parents & teacher should be able to hit only for good reasons but should be allowed to do so, but then children who are beaten too often the people responsible should be band so we grow up with respect and protection (my dad used to smack me and my sisters but he also played with us so we had fun and respect for & with him - youngest sister is now free of smacks due to the law - till he left the family was balanced and we never had problems). thing is some people would abuse it either way and there aren't enough GOOD socail service people and police officers to go around. if they did bring back capital punishment there would have to be undeniable evidence for the offender to have murdered (murder is the minimum - not encouraging higher crime - i think that capital punish should be used for) the victim/s before it could be used, for theft / asault then returning the stolen property, paying for medical treatment needed and prison are my thoughts of what should happen - and no life sentances just because its 'an act against the crown' - these days the only thing i see the crown doing for the country is opening parliment (and a lot of good they do) and bringing in tourism - sentance linked to damage and humans being more valuble than gold. boy i've ranted, sorry but i needed to say it all.

Thank you Micki. Those two evil bsds need to be locked up for good! They will kill someone if they are let out - even the police say they will! They were so bloody arrogant as well when they stopped, the one turning back to do his final kick by lifting his leg up and bringing it down on the young man's head - that is something that still haunts me. It was so brutal! Yet they got 4 years!! I hope the review of their sentences at the end of this year will bring about a more severe sentence!
I do like to think I helped in a small way to prevent a fatality.
Thanks again, Micki.
Well said, Lindsey!

So do I Rose.
I think you helped in a big way. I also think you are very brave, it must have more than crossed your mind there could be retaliation problems involved.

The step-father of the one who brought his whole foot down on the side of the young man's head asked me if I had attended the ID parade! I asked him what business it was of his and if he wanted to know anything, to go and ask the police!! I did mention that to the detectives and he never asked me again!! The police did say to me that if I ever got harrassed, or intimidated by anyone because of it, I just had to call them. I am not afraid of these people but it does make me more cautious going out late and that annoys me! As I say to people who ask me if I am afraid - my standard answer to them is "Ah didnae come fae Govan fur nothing:)"!! Seriously, I am not afraid of them or their families. However, I am careful! I carry a bag of pepper at night when out with Loki - just in case!!
