Aw Lyn that is bloody awful. The daughter should take the SS to court! To do a thing like that is dreadful. Up here it is different - they want patients to be looked after in their own homes. I know that my elderly friend got well looked after by the Social Services and myself. An alarm was put on her door and if she opened it, it would set off an alarm at the care centre. Also she had a phone link direct to them. Care workers went up early in the morning to make sure she got bathed, dressed and tablets and breakfast taken. I can't understand why the SS did a thing like that. Perhaps the daughter went the wrong way about getting her Mother out of hospital. I had to sign Greta out of hospital but it was only a formality.
Another lady I know who has that and has been in hospital since December last year, was taken home to see how she got on and they are going to install a downstairs toilet and a shower with a seat downstairs for her and I believe a stair seat to get up and down as well! They took her back in at night again though but will let her out once the alterations are carried out, after getting the necessary council permission.
Poor lady that wouldn't help her any.
Thank you for sharing that article.
Take care.

Aw I have seen all this over the news. It's so sad, and wrong to do that! Whatever possessed her to think of pulling her her away from her Daughter!!

You've hit the nail right on the head, Tricia!! Money talks in more ways than one! The authorities should start an enquiry into it.

I think the daughter mentioned that she had got solicitors taking care of it. Lets hope they do something FAST. Apparently the daughter who's home had been adapted had worked as a carer in her time and her sister is a nurse so it's not as though they couldn't cope. I hope this gets resolved and makes an example to anyone else trying to do such a kind act as look after a loved one. I really does beggar belief.

this is just crazy.. i can see that under the mental health act they can insist on the lady being in a safe environment but what was wrong with her living at her daughters house? bloody mental social workers. i hope this lady is back with her family soon.
