I hope this is not the start of those murdering idiots starting up again. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/7930995.stmI thought it was all stopped now - probably too quiet for them!! Disgusting. If caught, I would put them against the wall and shot! What gets me is the way they all hide behind masks, they haven't the courage to stand up and say - here's my face!! Dreadful.

This has been on the news - it's terrible! I wonder how long they'll be sent down for, they've taken a life so I hope they'll be given a life sentence. I don't know why they would want to shoot them though.

They have to catch them first! It is awful that the bloodshed has started again, hope it isn't going to all start up again.

I'm wondering if it's people trying to start up trouble than actually starting up. I sincerely hope so.

I believe it is different factions of the so-called "Real" IRA trying to be the "big" ones! Pity they don't just kill themselves - then the world would be free of the murdering scumbags that they are. They are cowards.

Unbelievable, but some people love and live for war. I expect it's been too quiet for too long to satisfy their killing natures. Whether you believe in the system or not it is evil to kill two lads just doing their job.

My friend works and has done for many years, in the army in Belfast and another person I know is an ex policeman, he was serving at the height of the troubles. Remember the riots 2 or so years ago when they started all the fires etc? My friend in the army was caught up in all of that phoned me and I could hear all the helicopters shouting crashes of petrol bombs and the likes - the sad thing was even then he wasn't phased by it. Even though we see it asquiet periods to be honest it has always been a bit like a lull and most of the guys, and girls, are just waiting for someone, usually a faction, to kick off. There has been so much bloodshed and violence and it has really achieved nothing. The original guys maybe started with a cause (not saying I agree but they started with a goal in mind) but now it appears itis just for its own sake and that some don't even know the history etc. Kind of like the words from tha song "Weve forgotten what westarted fighting for"
I remember visiting 5 years ago in may (around the time of trouble in Palestine/Israel) and if you went round the estates as well as British and Irish flags you could see Palestinian and Israeli Flags (can't remember who supported who) but it seemed it was just another excuse to create a culture of fear and violence. And it certainly was off putting for me as both my friends were legally allowed to carry handguns for Personal Prortection, as being in service or an ex serviceman they were considered as high risk targets. It crossed my mind more than once, whatwould happen if a fight broke out in a pub as they were armed, I mean would they wait to be shot at 1st??? I am glad I never found out the answer! - all a bit surreal for me and my friend from Scotland!!
So sad that more are losing their lives now when things are at a stage where they can move forward.

They have seemingly arrested someone for the shooting and murder of the police officer. Just hope they get the bombers as well. I see the "old hat" leaders have spoken out against the bombings!! Who would have thought it!!

It must be heckish for those in Northern Ireland who don't want the Troubles to start up again - it could so easily start - someone knowing who is in the so-called "Real IRA" and shoots them, then the "Real IRA" take revenge attacks - then boom - the Troubles have started up again!!
It is awful and those who do know who are members of the murdering gangsters should tell the police or the security forces.
