Well, I don't remember anything like the past few years of disasters with earthquakes, tsunamis etc when I was a wee girl. We only had planes then!! I do remember an article in the papers back then about an old man saying that every time a plane passed over it would rain afterwards:)

i`ve never been one for believing in these sorts of predictions , way i look at it is , i`ve lived through so many of these `end of days` predictions before and i`ve still been here the day afterwards. natural disasters have been happening since the beginning of time , look at the plague , it wiped out a third of the population. there is evidence suggesting that the first natural disaster was recorded in the bible , the great flood. heres a list of some of the worlds earliest and deadliest natural disasters. that`s just a few , theres many more i could fill the board with , but as you can see , they have always been there , just that sadly they are not kept fresh in our minds so we are at least allowed to think about these things with a rational mind one thing we all have in common is , we are born and then we die , we arent going to know when that happens , could happen tomorrow , next week , next year , next 80 years who knows?? take what it says in the bible...... now i`m not religious , but i do believe there is an element of truth in that

Some good facts there Wina. The bible does give clues to inform men of the ending of days though. Ive never paid attention to any other prediction. But the astronomers having some concerns worries me slightly.

I personally dont believe in that stuff, though the unknowing does kind of scare me. Like Jill said, just enjoy life with those you love, dont worry even after it happens whenever it happens we will be in a better place with those we love:)

21 12 2012 Should 12 12 2012 not be more symbolic? 21-12-2012 is when the mayan calendar stopped, that's where the date comes from. these appocalypse theories aren't just any old date

i think its a load of bull lol. i must admit tho that a few years ago it scared me to death. the Internet has a lot to answer for. yes its true the Mayan calender ends...but it just starts at 0 again. The Mayans have never actually said that the world will end. last week i was looking to see if it was gonna snow over here anytime soon when i came across a site explaining why we don't get it at Christmas...its because in September 1752, Great Britain switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. its a little hard to explain so here is a link www.adsb.co.uk/date_and_time/calendar_reform_1752/so from reading that...the world wont end because when the Mayans created their calenders we did not follow the calender we follow today...
