Wots ur opinion of the Loch Ness Monster, the Yeti and Bigfoot. Do these creatures exist for real or just in folklore???

I think it could be possible these exist. However the loch ness monster I feel would of been discovered by now as they have done extensive research of the loch. Here are some links to sites about the loch ness monster, yeti and bigfoot. www.unmuseum.org/yeti.htmwww.bfro.net/www.nessie.co.uk/

Not sure about the Yeti or Bigfoot, there were sightings of the Bigfoot once in a documentary but it was said afterwards by some that what was seen was a man made up to be the bigfoot. Haven't heard much about the Yeti for years. As for the Loch Ness Monster - it always rears it's head round about March - just when the tourist season starts! I have been up to Loch Ness many times but never even seen a ripple - it is one of the deepest fresh water lochs and is nearly the biggest fresh water Loch in Scotland, next to Loch Lomond! There have been many scientists etc trying to find out if Nessie exists, I remember when I was a wee girl, one person said in the papers that they saw it - it was a hoax. there is a wee video clip in that but no one believed that either. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loch_Ness this link tells about the Loch itself. It really is a frightening looking loch, especially when the Scotch mist is around it! Ach well, they need the tourists up there, so what better way of pulling them in than the Loch Ness Monster! Mind you, there could be something down there - it is so dank and deep. An American chap camped at the side of the Loch for a long long time but never saw it. There have been submarines go down - one man operated - but he couldn't see a thing! I doubt that there is any life in that Loch, too cold for anything to survive! Still we never know - wait until about March/April and we will start hearing about it again:) Good links Karan - thanks for sharing!

I saw a programme on the history channel I think it was of scientist doing investigations in the loch. They didnt find the monster but they did discover a new algae.

I think I saw that as well, Karan. That loch is so scary when the Scotch mist is around, it looks like steam coming up from the long and not falling onto it! Like a horror movie! Very bleak but the surround mountains are lovely when the sun shines! I only have every been there when it has rained!!

It is somewhere I would like to visit. Kimmy has been to Scotland, not sure if she went to Loch Ness. I think they saw some other lochs.

Loch Lomond is lovely - it is very picturesque with the Ben at the top (that is Ben Lomond the mountain). I can see the Ben from my bedroom windows, even although I am way over on the other side of the River Clyde and then some! Scotland does have lovely Lochs - Loch Fyne is lovely, I was there a couple of months ago (think I posted up a few pics of it), we have only one lake - the Lake of Menteith. Great fishing up there!
I think you would enjoy Scotland - and if you like hill walking it is def the place to come to! I don't like hill walking as I am scared of climbing/walking up sides of hills!
Take care.

Frankly I think it is all a myth! Even that video clip in the link I put up - where there looked like something in the water - I think it was someone in the boat put somethng in the water, let it drift away from the boat and then pull it in, thus making it look as though it could be Nessie! It is all tourist attractions - good for the local economy!! They have as many tacky ornaments of Nessie, books, videos etc that it is big business and they want to keep it alive!
The way I look on it, what does it live on? Nothing in that water could live, it is so very very cold, even in the middle of summer - and is so very deep it would cover the BBC Tower!!

Yes, please, Kimmy and post it up on the miscellaneous pics. It would be lovely to see! When I went to the Loch it was mid summer!! Our rain is awful - you were lucky! Sometimes it is better to go in Spring or Autumn. I went to Inveraray in September and it was gorgeous! Yet, when I went in the summer at other times, it rained!!
Look forward to seeing the pic(s).
Take care.
