When me and my brothers were kids my mum smacked us. I dont think its wrong to smack your kids as long as you dont go over the top like some people. When im doing something and Zeke keeps meddling i will tap his hand and he will go off and do something else. I dont choose to slap him as my primary discipline. I will tell him off and sit him on his bed for time out but now his a lil older i can have a corner for him. I dont even hurt the lil bugger anyway, he looks at me as if to say what the hell was that. He gets more upset when i raise and deepen my voice to him.
I dont think anyone else should touch your kids though. Like teachers, friends etc. I would never slap one of Tims kids even though sometimes they need one.
Theres some people around where i live that slap their kids alot and i think thats wrong. There are other ways of punishing a child. slapping is just the easy way out. I saw one of my neighbors the other week and her kid was running around as usual and she wanted him in (only bout 2/3 years old) and she shouted at him, grabbed him and held up her hand and said "do as i say now or you will get one of these" I was horrified. Obversely she slaps them alot because he knew what she was on about.
