I will not sign it as I don't think it is good for Scotland! The mornings would be far too dark for children going to school and it affects the farm animals as well.
Thanks for the link, Sharon!

I don't know if it is so dumb The clocks would still change twice a year as they do now, but time would be an hour on. Hmmm. Well if it gave us lighter evenings, we'd be saving on electricity, reduce the carbon footprint and all that. ROSPA and Road Safety UK are amongst the organisations that support it.

but to change our time so much would change the time other countries are in relation to us. it would be like shifting our position in the northern hemisphere.

True, but we're not in sync. timewise with some other countries now. I've read right through the Lighterlater link, and I think I'm in favour of it......still not quite convinced. One thing they don't explain is that this was done back in WW2 days for 7 years, but then after the war they reverted the time back. It claims there was increased workforce productivity, boosted morale, saved energy and reduced danger from air raids.

I'd say give it a try, there are more than 24 different time zones in the world with all the ones that are 30 and 45 minute variations too. It upset me last year when we had to follow the US when they extended the daylight saving time. Businesses all over the world deal with each other every day and they manage. I bet Lyn is already on the new proposed time, she gets up with the sun most days. I was up at 445 one day this week and watched the sunrise, it was beautiful out.

There's a bill being presented in Parliament later this year. I think the proposal is to try it for 3 years.
