hope they do a good enough job on her new identity cause if people recognise her she will get a harder time than inside thats if she gets out and someone doesn't get to her first if they want to get o her they will believe me and some screws actually turn a blind eye if they think they deserve it do you mind, one of my friends is a police officer, and another taught in a jail, and when she was ill she collapsed and the inmates fetched an officer to hep cos they ain't allowed to touch people like her (my friend) so some do learn their lesson. i just hope Shannons mum does, and realises how wrong an horrid what she did was, all i can say in her defence is atleast Shannon was actually safe and heathy even if she wasn't happy.

Shannon will have to live with what her mother and uncle did for the rest of her life and I think that is what we should think of. The mother never gave that a thought when she had her imprisoned against her will. She had the gall to talk on tv and ask for her daughter to be brought home, knowing full well where she was.
Prison officers have their hands full and there aren't enough of them in our prisons, the prisons are full to capacity. They have a hard job. Many years ago, there was a time when Prison Officers would "turn a blind eye" to certain things going on but not now as there are strict rules nowadays and with CCTV, it would be hard for them to do that.
Although, there are cases where prisoners do get a beating up behind the Prison Officers backs - they can't be everywhere at once.
Shannon could have been hurt by the elasticated loop strap, which had been secured to the beam - here is the quote from the newspaper -
"The Office who found her hidden in the base of a divan bed also discovered an elasticated looped strap, secured to the beam so it dangled down through a loft hatch.
The loop had been secured round the little girl at times during her captivity, jurors heard.
That made it possible for her to reach the toilet — but neither the front door or the windows when she was left on her own."
Now that was not safe - she could have been strangled by the elasticated loop strap had it wound round her throat!
The pair responsible should have been given life sentences! It's our judicial system that is wrong.

This is the latest from that depraved evil mother of Shannon -
Shannon mother: What I miss in jail by Shannon mother: pa.press.net
The mother of Shannon Matthews has said the things she misses in prison are sex, shopping and coffee at her neighbour's house. But she did not mention her seven children, it is reported. Karen Matthews, 33, was jailed for eight years at Leeds Crown Court after she was found guilty of the kidnapping and false imprisonment of Shannon and perverting the course of justice. Matthews denied the charges throughout the trial and blamed the crime on other people.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror, at Peterborough Prison, she insisted she had been "framed" by her accomplice, Michael Donovan, 40, who kept nine-year-old Shannon imprisoned in his flat in Batley Carr, West Yorkshire, for 24 days.
The pair hatched the plan in order to claim a £50,000 reward offered by a national newspaper.
Matthews said: "My downfall has always been men. I get the blame for everything. I am sorry - sorry that I am in here serving time for something I didn't do. But I have to decide how I always go for the wrong men. I was framed. I didn't do it. I don't care about money, but how am I ever going to prove I'm innocent?" Donovan was also sentenced to eight years in jail for kidnap, false imprisonment and perverting the course of justice.
Matthews continued: "I didn't even know where Donovan lived. He knows the truth. Donovan was part of the plot to frame me. They wanted me to get the blame. It was all planned.
Sentencing the pair, Mr Justice McCombe suggested other people may have been involved in the kidnap plot. However, police said the case was now closed and there was no evidence to bring any more charges.

That woman is pure evil - no mention of her missing her children! She should be given an operation so that she never is able to have any more children!

i saw the bit where she said what she'd miss inside on aol didn't know she was still trying to be seen as an actress though - inoccent my foot, her and her buddys have given all of dewsbury a bad name, you can't say you come from here without been asked if you knew Shannon Mathews (i live over the other side of the town, there the whole town center and a part of town i don't dare walk through between me and where that £!$#£!$#£!$ lived) my mums found that when ever she talks to people on her forums.

This "woman" will IMO never learn, if she has managed to produce 7 children and they have been on protection register I think you have to ask WHY is she allowed to keep breeding. I know Social Servioces do an excellent job and we only hear the bad stories but come on 7 kids and she can't look after one. Poor Shannon will have a long road ahead of her Guilt and anger about why her mum picked her and not one of the other children, pstchological damage of having emotion continually supressed bt diazepam and temazapam which she was fed during important formative years. IMO no prison sentence will teach that woman anything her comments are despicable and only topped by her actions. She will probably be out 4 years after the date of sentencing. I only hope Shannon and the other kids (I mean imagine the trauma of thinking your sister may be kidnapped or worse) grow up in the stable environment they deserve and get serious help so history, as it so often does, does not repeat itself
