www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2131703.eceWhy does this not surprise me - typical RSPCA Woud fit them better is they concentrated on Puppy Farmers and Pet Shops selling puppes. What is your view? I for one am so glad that I don't donate to them if this is what my hard earned cash is spent on.

I totally agree with you Eunice I think the RSPCA should concentrate more on people who are truly cruel to animals like you say people who run puppy farms etc & those who really do abuse pets & animals.
From that article it would seem they will be wanting to prosecute Gail & I as we both put Diesel in T-shirts & hoodies to help him stay warm - He actually enjoys wearing them & his movement is not restricted at all.

I totally agree with you Eunice as well. The RSPCA complain about being short of money - well what the heck are they playing at saying that is cruel to animals. I think the animals look cute - well, some of them do, a couple of them I think are a wee bit OTT. I do love to see the wee dogs dressed in their finery - our own Bindi (Becky)'s wee dogs are simply gorgeous, especially in the photos Bindi posted of Angel's birthday and Angel in her dress (hope it was Angel). There is nothing cruel about it and it is the owner's choice surely. I put on a raincoat on Loki - wonder if they would say that was cruel!! Waste of time. As you rightly say, Eunice, they should be concentrating on puppy farms, breeders who should be taken to task, as well as the pet shops who sell puppies.
Pity they wouldn't prosecute those instead of owners who are looking after their dogs.
Makes me angry!!
Many thanks Eunice - moved it here as I think it is an item to be debated.

well how pathetic they can't catch the real criminals that harm pets on a regular basis so they have a snipe at people that spoil thier pets instead blasting them as cruel i'll openly admit i dress my doggies up they are small and feel the cold i wear extra layers when i'm cold so why shouldn't they thats why so many people get away with the cruelty they do because these A holes are focusing on the wrong things

What business is it of the RSPCA anyway. They should get off their backsides and do something about the bad breeders who knowingly breed dogs with health problems. Those breeders should be taken to task, not the owners of pets with lovely wee coats, jumpers and all on!! They must sit on their brains!!

i find it pathetic... which planet does this organisation come from? they have persecuted 100's of innocent pet owners and now complain about dogs wearing coats? yet if u call them coz there's a cat trapped on a upstairs window ledge they dont come out. i think a march past their headquarters by hundreds of people with their dogs wearing coats would be a good idea. ;D

So do I, Micki:) Excellent suggestion!! And they have the cheek to advertise for more money from those who already give to them and they are looking for more - as are the SSPCA - saying it is because of the credit crunch!! No, it is because of their nonsensical rules and regs!!

No, it is because of their nonsensical rules and regs!! Me too Micki and Rose its a load of CRAP, and Rose the SSPCA are the Scottish Clones of the RSPCA and what the RSPCA do today the SSPCA do tomorrow . The rules of both are as you say nonsensical.

Yes I know that about the SSPCA - they came out next day and said that they are needing money because of the credit crunch - jumping on the bandwagon!! Something should be done about both the RSPCA and the SSPCA.
Thanks Eunice for this post - Karma for you.

i phoned the rspca on two occassions once because i went to some dog kennels near me and the dogs were sat in piles upon piles of thier own excrement it was disgusting never heard anything from that and once for the cat iving next door to my mum well 3 cats really but one is really bad he has such a bad ear infection with possibly mites that his head hangs to the floor apparantly they came out spoke to my mum couldn't catch the owners in and never came back and the cat still continues to suffer so what use actually are they i agree with micki a march would be good mine all love wearing thier coats and clothes and if for one minute i thought they were too warm in it then i wold take it off them but then as a sensible owner i assess the weather before we go out and dress them for the weather

Yes the RSPCA are a lot to be desired. They don't even make their local branches easily contactable in case of needing to report something in an emergency. There are loads of sickening cases of ignorance and cruelty which is where they should be putting their time and funds. I for one am not keen on dressing up pets but that is purely my own opinion. If people get pleasure doing it and the dogs are happy then that is entirely that their choice. They will be telling us what colour collars and leads we will be allowed to have soon.

I find that ridiculous and a waste of their efforts entirely and would be surprised if anyone felt differently. All the animals who suffer from cruelty and they want to worry about things like that, makes me quite angry to be honest.

i would never give them any money... i KNOW for a fact the stuff that goes on behind closed doors of this organisation and believe me, it isnt caring. many healthy animals are destroyed and sick ones "bumped" to save money, injured foxes "Bumped" coz they're vermin.. not a welfare group if u ask me...
now the PDSA is an example the RSPCA should follow.

Nor would I, Micki, nor to the SSPCA. I would rather give it to local animal charities.
