i agree Tricia.. but i think to b an 18yrs old "Hoodie" with a Rottie isnt a good mix. i know lots of young people are fantastic dog owners but i also know many arent. i remember seein a youth near ere with a large Staffy type that was on a chain thick enough to tie a motorbike up with.. complete prat.
still as u say there are many over 30s like that also.

OMG sharon when u said youd had a bad experience with a dog like myn on preloved i had no idea!! Im so terrified now! Beau is such a lovely dog and i dont think shed ever purposely hurt another dog or a human being but it terrifies me that she acts like she wants to. After reading this story im so scared. I dont think obedience is above me like some people and i def dont have beau to look better. I took her in from a friend and read everything up about her i could. I wont take her to obedience cos im scared shell try to attack another dog. I take her out cos i can control her and im allways on my guard. I love beau and im going to do everything in my power to get her sorted now! i def dont want anyone hurt!!! however i have to disagree that people under 30 shouldnt be allowed certain dogs. Im only 21 and i believe i am a very responsible dog owner Ive had a staff, jack russel x staff, collie, labs, terrier crosses and much more through my life and i hope to allways have a Dogue de Bordeaux in my life from now on, and i believe i bring them up properly and train them adequately. Its the people who get staffs/ pit bulls/ EBT's/ Rotty/ GSD and Mastiffs to fight and dont train them properly who let it down for the rest of us. and it pains me that it is my age group that do it the most, its redicolous!!!! ![:(](http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww136/jai_kum08/party0019.gif)

I really do feel for you Sharon witnessing sucha terrible ordeal, I do hope you are feeling a little better today, I shouldn't worry too much about having a goat the gentleman as maybe he will think twice before taking a dog out that is obviously too powerful for him to handle. I do feel sorry for the dog though & hope he will be ok ![:)](http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/Aija_forum/Smilies/happy1.gif) I agree with all thats been said too I get so angry and feel just like you micki in fact there have been many times that when we take Beauty & Diesel out we have something with us to be able to protect them should another dog come to have a go at them. It makes me so angry that people can be so irresponsible as not to ensure their dogs are suitably under control & on leads. I think that the government should change the current laws & bring back the dog licence i know it would be another cost we would all have to pay but at least there would be responsiblity & hopefully more responsible ownership of dogs. Just lately it seems that there are more & more dogs roaming the streets with & without owners than ever before. Only the other day our neighbours have taken in a little staffie that had been abandoned in a wooden box ![:(](http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww136/jai_kum08/party0019.gif) Another dog that someones had enough of that could have ended up wandering the streets causing mayhem.

it makes me so mad, I have two labelled potentially dangerous dogs, my DDB and a GSD x Rotty, my mum n dad have one, a pure Rotty and i have had labelled dangerous dogs in the past, Staffies etc and it definately is not the dogs and it gets me so mad! the dogs have tempraments that have to be trained and these certain people just dont seem to give a damn, as soon as beau has started doing these bad things i was straight in with training and getting advice, If you dont now how to control your dog or train it, it doesnt hurt to get advice, or not take it out without precautions, eg muzzles etc! Its so sad that they dont seem to care about their dogs or care about other peoples dogs!!! I agree with dee that licences should be brought back! although there would still be the odd ones it would stop alot of it!!!

Carol not all under 30's are irresponsible dog owners. i was under 30 owning GSD's.. but i see so many "prats" with bull terriers who obviously own them just to look hard. if im out with our Neo/Rott and happen to bump into certain groups u can see them lookin at my dog, not coz they have a love for him but how "hard" they'd look if they had him.. it makes me sick. Zoe cant walk him coz hes heavier than she is and a damn sight stronger. i think as long as u are aware of the potential damage a dog can do u wont take risks and thats bein a responsible owner so i take my hat off to u for that. Our big lad is 7 now and isnt gonna be changing anytime soon. hes great with us but strangers are a No-no.. a vet once ended up on the floor with the dog on top, luckily he was muzzled so no harm done, and the vet was very good about it considering. he was never taught to be aggressive, never encouraged to be, that would be a dumb thing to do with a dog that size. my point is that unlike u theres many who would love dogs like ours and encourage that aggression, sadly it will end up with someone getting hurt ad the dog destroyed. anyway when Tricia comes on she'll have a good look at ur case and advice u on methods u maybe could use. shes a qualified dog trainer and behaviourist and has helped several owners ere so hopefully she'll be able to do the same for you as well. ![:)](http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/Aija_forum/Smilies/happy1.gif)

No problem carol i didnt tell the story on preloved because i feel the pepo on here are (not being cheeky) better to talk to ![;)](http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/Aija_forum/Smilies/zwinker1.gif) but you are a responsable owner you are doing somthing about your dog you are trying to help her ;D yeah micky i see your point when am out with or without the dogs i see these pepo with thses type of dogs and i have noticed now its not just one dog they have its two!, we have a male in his late twentys with two well built staffs that all ways go this way to ouyr shops and yes they are of there lead wondering around sniffing looking for something weather cat/dog and he walks on and he does not shout them until hes at the top of the road! i mean it not a park he's in it a street! and someone challanged him and they got abuse and was told "yar windays are going in" shocking. but i know pepo with staffs and there are great loving dogs it such a shame. thanks dee, yeah it was bad i will never forget it for as long as i live so so sad it was that bad iv stop smoking 3 years ago and i was really tempted to have one to cam my nerves but my freind made us a sweet cup of tea. yeah am all for a dog liecence i willing to pay but then again what would it acheve(sorry for spelling) mybe for dangerous breeds of dogs? I was over today and i have herd that theres a collection box for the people who owned the little dog for what ever they want and some one said they are going to by a memoriel stone with his name and picture on it thats so nice eh.

Aw Sharon that was a horrid sight to see, I know exactly how you and others who saw it felt. I used to look after a small Westie for a neighbour by taking it out and he loved it, I took him down the road and 2 small boys were coming towards me with a rather large, what looked to me like a labrador (discovered later it was a cross but not sure what the other part was), anyway, the wee Westie I had on a lead and the other dog, who was on a lead but it was far to strong a dog for 2 wee laddies, got away from the boys and charged at Jeelous (not sure how the name was spelt) and grabbed the back of his kneck and swung it round and round like a rag doll. No one came to help and I ended up kicking the big dog in its bits and then grabbed its mouth and he had to open his mouth and Jeelous fell to the ground and I got a bite on my finger! Their grandmother came running down and pleaded with me not to get the police but, as I told her, it could have been a child and I did call the police. Not sure what happened to the dog. Poor Jeelous's neck had large bites right through and he only survived a couple of weeks after that.
I was also knocked down by a large Mastiff dog and it wasn't the dog's fault really, the young man who had it had no control over it - nor had those 2 wee boys. It isn't always the dogs fault that things like that happen. I feel sorry for them.
Perhaps that dog got spooked by the wee dog and thought it was a toy. Just as well it wasn't a baby.
May the wee dog run free at The Bridge. RIP little chap.

i agree! if i couldnt control beau i dunno what id do but luckily with the halti we have full control over her, thank goodness, and sasha is an alsation x rotty another bad combo but luckily we managed to train all the good qualities from both breeds. Just to let u no aswell it seems to be me thats the problem wit beau............we took er out today and i had control of sasha instead (off lead) and jamie had beau and she was brill she had a mardy at about 2 dogs out of the 50 around there which he controlled perectly, so its me that needs training. lol Were still going to bottle tain her and im gonig to ease up, lol so fingers crossed!
