 Beavers returned to Scotland:)

Now a family of them have disappeared and are being hunted!! I love beavers and say they have as much right to be here as the fishermen - who are now complaining because of the fishing industry - worth about £100 M I believe, or something like that, who say the beavers are a threat to their fishing. I would ban fishing as I think that is a cruel thing - the hooks going into the fish mouths and then they get a clobber over the head to kill them! The fishermen loose their hooks and birds end up with them in their bills.

i think its a great idea. Beavers were native to the country anyway so re-introducing them is fine by me. :)

It is time to introduce them and to heck with all those busy-bodies who are against them!

Thats great that the Beavers are being re-intorduced. I think that fishing should only be done from sustainable sources as the fish stocks are reducing.

I agree with you Karen. I think it was an experiment to start with but think it is going to be UK wide soon. I want to go and see them!! I think the place is near where I was a few months ago. There was a program about it on telly up here a few months ago and it was brilliant to see them beavering away!! They are always busy! I suppose that is where the saying comes from "as busy as a beaver":)

Take care.

Beavers are great! They've been shown to increase the types of wildlife and plants in any area they are in and that's got to be good! The fishermen remind me of the grouse people...they just want a monoculture of just what they want ie trout, salmon (or grouse in that case) and anything that might change that is unacceptable. I know they have to live, everyone else has a right to have a good planet to live on! Go beavers I say :-)
