I hate the fact that 2 grown men stand in a ring and punch each others face in and call it sport !!, but what I saw on the news, it looked like a fight between david and goliath, I suppose a Well done is in order.

Oh I have always loved boxing since I was a wee toty girl growing up in Govan! I would sit on my late Dad's knee and listen to the boxing on the radio, before we had telly in our house! I would be shouting out for the one my Dad wanted to win - give him an uppercut!! My Dad loved boxing and I loved my Dad - so it passed on to me. My brother hated it! My Dad had been a bit of an amateur boxer when he was on the American liners as chief steward. My Mum's uncle was a boxing champion of Scotland - amateur I think as well, can't remember his name, think it was Andrew something-or-other!! I have a photo of him.
I grew up with listening to stories of boxing and Dad could tell me great stories and I remember them to this day!
Yep, I love boxing! That is a good title you gave them, Tricia, though "David and Goliath"!!

Tricia i boxed, my father boxed, his father boxed and my eldest son has a natural talent for it. My Grandmother detested it, she could never understand it. It is a science and as much mental as it is physical. keeping calm under pressure and maintaining your game plan.... even when it doesnt work. To be constantly thinking about what your doing as well as what the opponent is doing, what the risk is and how much you can absorb, to adapt and think defense as well as offence. to know what condition your body is in and what its capable of coping with. it really is an amazing feeling pitting your skills and your training against someone who has worked equally as hard as you to make it to that moment. its even better when you win.
